Notes From Green Thumb Farm, 18 June 2007

farmer-bill.jpgStrawberries are ripening, despite the cold, damp, sunless days of the last week. We're pleased that the berries we have already brought in have been flavorful with good quality.

Our spring farm tour and strawberry picking, a walking tour, will take place Saturday, June 23 at 10:30am and 1pm. We will walk and see one of our fields, which has our early plantings of lettuce, beets, fennel, peas, and squash. This year we will meet at the field, which is located approximately 1/2 mile east of our farmstand on the corner of Montauk Highway and Rose Hill Road; it's the second right. All members and their families are invited - rain or shine. Everyone will be able to pick one quart of berries. More information is at 631.726.1900.

Organically yours,

Farmer Bill
