Final Note from Green Thumb Farm 2007

Category:

farmer-bill.jpgOur growing year this past season was a mixed bag - some crops did very well and some not as much. However, in general we felt we had a good season with plenty of variety over the weeks. We brought in many staples which people seemed to enjoy, especially tomatoes, beans and squashes. Unfortunately, we had some weeks without lettuce (which we like to bring in weekly), shortages of sweet potatoes, and our cucumbers and strawberries were less robust than in years past.

But that's organic farming! When you're growing seasonally - we grow over 150 types of crops - some things are going to be better than others.

We hope all our members enjoyed their selections and will return to the CSA for the 2008 season. We thank you all for your support and helping our family farm continue producing and selling certified organics.

Organically yours,

Farmer Bill
