Upcoming Raw Food Workshops

Category:

This came in my inbox and thought I'd share it with you all here. A few months ago, I attended the fermentation workshop sponsored by Food Not Lawns (held at All Saints Church in Sunnyside) and it was very good.

Perennial Design Workshop Series presents:
“Raw Winter Comfort: squash soup, sweet potato pie & almond milk chai”
with Shenaqua Sookhoo-Jones

Wed. 28 Jan., 6:30 – 9 pm
Manhattan – The Community Church
front lounge, 28 East 35th Street

Sat. 31 Jan., 11:30 am – 2:30 pm
Sunnyside, Queens - All Saints Church
43-12 46th Street
(#7 to 46th Street / Bliss Street stop)

More and more people are becoming aware of the health benefits of a vegetarian, organic and live-food diet. In this workshop, you’ll learn the philosophy behind eating a raw, organic diet, and receive hands-on instruction on how to prepare raw butternut squash soup, sweet potato pie, and almond milk chai. Each participant takes home two delicious dishes – a sure bet to chase your winter blues away!

Shenaqua Sookhoo-Jones had an international and vegetarian upbringing, exposing her to the healthier aspects of Indian, Cajun, French, and Chinese culinary traditions. She has transferred her knowledge of and passion for healthy and delicious food to the preparation of raw and living foods as part of her own healing journey. She takes great pleasure in sharing the culinary good news.
