Notes from Green Thumb Farm

June 1, 2015

This is the start of our 20th CSA season! The years seem to go by so fast.  As the season begins, we would like to welcome back all our returning members who’ve supported our local, seasonal, certified organic, family farm through the years and welcome all our new first time members as well -- WELCOME!

As June begins, the first few weeks we will have Strawberries, Rhubarb, Onions, Lettuces and Herbs - many of our herbs especially Oregano, Thyme, Savory and Mint can be dried as well as used fresh!

Several Types of Peas -- Sugar Snap, Shelling and Chinese Flat pod -- will be ripening by the middle of the month.  Our farm is seasonal, so enjoy it all because it’s only here for a short time.  Then the next arrives - Beans, Squash, Tomatoes, Beets, Carrots, Broccoli and all sorts of other crops.

Welcome to your Green Thumb Community Supported Agriculture program for another year!

Our Strawberry picking farm tour -- a walking tour taking place on Saturday, June 20th. Meet at our field on the corner of Rose Hill Road and Montauk Highway in Water Mill, NY. Tours are at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30. For info, call 631-726-1900 between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM.

Organically Yours,

Farmer Bill
