Hello Green Thumb CSA family,

Happy August!  These long days of light, with the heat and rain has brought a lot of growth to our fields; though the colder evenings has slowed down some of their grown patterns.  Tomatoes are beginning to come in from our fields, mostly miniature varieties, but they are a nice sweet treat to have around.  Beans, Peppers, Squash, Cucumbers and Potatoes have been fruitful.  We have had more Broccoli this summer than the past as a result of the rain we’ve been getting as well as the new well that we had installed, providing irrigation to certain fields.  Garlic has been dug and is hanging in our barn curing sunflowers and a multitude of flowers and herbs are filling the fields, providing the bees with pollen.  Melons and Eggplants are around the corner and Sweet Potatoes aren’t far away!  Potatoes have been getting dug with a new tractor implement, in all shapes, sizes and colors.  Farmer Bill has been drying out some onions, which have been big and beautiful this year!

Our Hayground Market has been opened for a little over a month, Saturday through Monday, from 9 A.M. to 6 P.M.  If any body is in the area, swing by and mention that you are a member of our CSA to receive a free gift!

Organically Yours,

The Green Thumb Farm Family
