First shares distributed

06-06-06 BOver 60 shares were successfully distributed today in the first distribution of the 2006 season for Hellgate CSA. Members arrived between 5:30pm and 7:30pm this evening to meet with the CSA coordinators and other members. The first share included freshly picked strawberries, rhubarb, leeks, red leafy lettuce, and flowering chives.

Chatting among members, and swapping of the organic veggies was seen as people got to know each other. Several community members also stopped by to check it all out.

The CSA is rapidly approaching its maximum capacity for members for the 2006 season, so if you're thinking about joining now is the time to act.

Gearing up for the season

The core group is busy gearing up for the upcoming season! We're working on website materials, the financial stuff, and getting organized to deal with all the veggies that we'll be working with distrubuting to Astorians.

The season is scheduled to start sometime in the first week of June and run through Thanksgiving 2006. We'll be posting more information as it becomes available.
