Just a note to say thank you to all of you that volunteered this season. Of course, volunteering is part of your CSA contract, but we'd like to thank you just the same. The CSA can't survive without your work as volunteers.

You don't have to have a monthly share to purchase meat, eggs, cheese, honey, syrup and jam from Lewis Waite Farm. The monthly distribution dates over the winter will be: December 18, January 22, February 26, March 18, April 29, and May 20.

If you haven't yet volunteered this season, and are available to work this Tuesday's distribution, we need volunteers for both the 12-3 pm slot and the 5-8 pm slot. If you can lend a hand on October 2, we'd really appreciate it! Please email volunteer@hellgatecsa.com if you can help. Thank you.

Lemon-Pepper Tat Soi

tat soi
olive oil
salt and pepper
red pepper flakes
lemon juice to taste

Wash, dry, and chop the tat soi. Heat a little olive oil in a pan. When it's hot, add the tat soi leaves and saute them covered, until wilted. Remove the cover and cook until liquid has evaporated. Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice.

As you know, Freeze Peach Cafe is once again our distribution site, and we are very happy to have them in that capacity! Even with the addition of fruit and meat/dairy, they have accommodated us, happily. Freeze Peach is dedicated to fostering community of all kinds, so there's a logical connection between the cafe and the CSA.
