Fill up the gas tank and let's get over to our farm!
Saturday, June 23 at 10:30am and 1pm we are all set for our summer strawberry picking farm visit. It's a walking tour open to CSA members and their families. We'll get to check out the farm and pick our very own free quart of strawberries. That's an extra "sweet" bonus if you ask me Smiley

About Our Fruit Farmer and Their Methods

Category:

As you know, Hepworth Farms will provide our fruit for the season. They provide for other CSAs in the area, and from what I've heard, the fruit is fantastic. Cobble Hill CSA has a little writeup from Amy and Gerry, our farmers, which should give you a little more info about the fruit and the way it is produced:

Hepworth Farms is a small diversified ecologically managed farm located on the banks of the Hudson River. Our farm has been in our family for seven generations. Our last 25 years of work have been dedicated to organic and ecologically sustainable farming.

Reminders About Distribution

This came through my email box earlier this month, and thought I'd pass it along to you:

More Reasons to Buy Local

Each year, the average American consumes 260 pounds of imported food.

98.7% of foods imported into the U.S. are NOT inspected by the FDA for safety.

Volunteer Info

Volunteering for Hellgate CSA

Volunteer shifts are from approximately 11 am- 2pm (set-up) and 5-8pm (distribution). If you are working set-up, please wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or wet. There is some lifting involved.

Distribution involves signing people in, answering (to the best of your ability) questions about the share, restocking bins, and cleaning up.
